Pee-Pee Day!

Since Luke recently turned two, Andy and I decided it was time to potty train.  After investigating several methods, we decided on the 1 day method.  We chose a weekend that had absolutely nothing going on so that we could camp out at the house.  Our "pee-pee day" consisted of drinking a ton of fluid, practicing going to the potty all day long, Teddy, M&M's, stickers, celebratory phone calls, and lots of praise.  I was ready to throw the towel in after 4 back to back accidents, but I am so happy I (we) kept going.  After "pee-pee day" on Saturday and staying at home all day on Sunday I am happy to report that Luke is potty trained.  He is wearing ONLY big boy underwear (even at night) and has had very few accidents!!  I know that the journey isn't over, but I am so proud that he picked up on it so quickly/easily.  For those of you thinking about potty training I say go in to it 100% and don't give up!

Yee-Haw!

Luke got to dress up as a cowboy for school recently and LOVED it!  He was a cowboy all day long!  I think that Andy got him dressed at about 6:45am and we didn't get home from church until about 9:00pm that night.  I love my little cowboy.

Luke has been taking swim lessons since he was 10 months old and he loves it!  The parents are finally out of the water and he is doing so well.  I was able to snap a few pictures the other day and get a video of him going down the slide.  He is such a big boy!



Elmo Party!

Last weekend we had Luke's 2nd birthday party at Gigi's house.  When I first started to ask Luke what kind of party he wanted he would always tell me "moo cow," but one day it just changed to Elmo -- so that is what we did!  He loves to read his Elmo books and watch Elmo on TV, so why not have an Elmo party, too!  Luke had lots of friends and family there to celebrate the day.  We made Elmo party bags, ate snacks, sang Happy Birthday, opened presents and then played with some of his toys.  He did such a good job sharing his new toys with his friends.  Happy birthday Luke!

Cousins

Sarah bought the boys matching outfits so that we could take some pictures while they were in town last weekend.  Luke was interested in taking pictures for about 2 minutes and then it was just the little ones.  They are so cute.  I cannot wait for them to get bigger and be the best of friends!  In these pictures Ben is 15 weeks and Jack is almost 6 weeks.

Finger Painting

The other day when I was off I offered to let Luke finger paint for the first time.  He was really excited about painting, but wanted to use paint brushes at first.  After his first picture he warmed up to the idea of using his fingers.  I think I had to stop him after about 5 pictures!  He was so cute when he made his first hand print.  He said, "Paw prints Mommy!"  I love that kid.

On the Floor

These boys really enjoy playing on the floor.  Luke will ask me to lay a blanket out so he and Benjamin can lay on it.  He is always very specific as to what he wants Ben and me to do.  This particular day he wanted Ben to lay on the "little one" and him to lay on the "big one" (referring to the pillow pets).  Shortly after this picture he wanted Ben to practice rolling over.  So cute!
