Pumpkin Patch, Round 2

Last week our T Cell met up at the Homestead Farms pumpkin patch.  It just so happened a cold front blew in that day so it was a bit chilly for everyone.  We quickly checked out all the animals (chickens, turkeys, rabbits, goats, pigs, and horses) and then headed out on a hay ride.  We finished the evening up playing on the swing set and climbing on the haystacks in the pumpkin patch.  We had fun, for a quick cold trip!

Pumpkin Patch

This year we decided to take the boys to a local church's pumpkin patch instead of driving out to Flower Mound as we have in years past (2010, 2011).  The weather was beautiful and the pumpkins were fun.  Luke enjoyed sitting on the big pumpkins and trying to roll them around.  Benjamin liked the hay scattered on the ground and the small pumpkins he could hold in his hands.  Believe it or not, we got out of there without any pumpkins.....we forgot to bring cash :)

Makayla is SIX!

Earlier this month we helped Makayla celebrate her 6th birthday.  She decided to have a gymnastics party at the same place Macy her her party earlier this year.  Luke was excited when he found out that he was going to get to go back to do gymnastics.  In a little less than 3 months (with no practicing) Luke really improved on the trampoline.  He had such a great time bouncing and was actually able to get air with his bounces!  He also decided to do multiple jumps into the foam pit!  I love watching him participate with the bigger kids.  Benji didn't do much gymnastics; however, he was all about the ice cream!  Happy Birthday Makayla!

10 Months Old

Benjamin is now 10 months old!  He weighs in at a whopping 24 pounds even and he feels every bit of it!  He is wearing size 12 month pants and 18 month shirts and his foot is too fat to fit into most shoes.

Benjamin loves to eat, no news here!  He is eating the same thing as he did at 9 months, but now he is wanting more and more bites off of our plates. In fact, we have to feed him before we sit down for dinner or he screams for our food and won't eat his baby food.  He still has the same 6 tooth grin!

Ben started army/slither crawling right when we got back from Gulf Shores and was crawling on all fours about 1 week after he turned 10 months old.  He is all over the place and in to everything -- this is very different from his big brother.  In fact, he can climb all the way to the top of the stairs....giggling the entire way.  He is going to wear me out!

Ben is very vocal, and by vocal I mean he screams.  He can make a lot of cute noises and he can babble talk, too, but it seems like the screaming has been winning out lately.  As far as words he can can say bye (while waving his hand), da-da, ma-ma, and bub-ba.  When he is not exercising his vocal cords he loves to give big open mouth kisses, so sweet!  Oh, and he knows how the moo cow goes, too....."mmmmm."

Benji, I love you to the moon and back!!  Please stop growing!

Ben's First Haircut

A week before Ben turned 10 months old we took him to get his first haircut.  He didn't have much hair for the first 6 months of his life, but over the last few months it had been growing like crazy!  I have always preferred the clean cut look on little boys so we decided to go ahead and cleaned up before it got too out of control.  Since Luke needed a hair cut we let him go first so that Benji could watch his big brother in action (he is now and old pro with at least 20 haircuts under his belt).  After that, it was Ben's turn.  He sat in Daddy's lap and was soooo good.  He didn't cry or fuss and kept the wiggling to an acceptable level.

New Toy

One day my mom helped me out and picked up Luke from school.  She took him to CVS to grab a few things and before he left the store she let him pick out a new toy.  He chose a golf cart "just like Grandma Blum's."  I love this kid!

Great Wolf Lodge

Last month we took the boys to Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas for some fun splash time.  The Johansen's met up with us and the boys LOVED the water.  Luke and Colin took a bit to warm up the slides, but once they did they didn't want to do anything else.  Benjamin, of course, is our little fish and was content just splashing around.  I can only imagine what it will be like next year when he is running after the older boys and going down the slides, too!  Here is the link to last year's visit to GWL.
