First Carnival

Our church had a carnival a couple of weeks ago.  We decided to leave Benjamin with Gigi for the evening and take Luke to enjoy his very first carnival experience.  He rode everything he could ride given his height (not quite 36 inches).  He rode the carousel, the slide, the elephants, and the ferris wheel.  I am pretty sure Luke had a good time.  He talked about going to the "carnibal" for days!  We had a great evening out with Luke, but also look forward to when we can take Benji, too.

Turtle Time

Luke got to pick out this big turtle pillow as a reward for potty training.  Luke loves to lounge around on it on the floor.  Thankfully he doesn't mind sharing with his little brother because Benjamin seems to enjoy the pillow just as much as Luke!

Andy snapped a few pictures of Luke one afternoon while he was eating his snack.  I love that he was able to catch so many different faces -- here are some of my favorites.

Easter 2012

I had to work this year for Easter (boo) so Andy was on his own.  He took the boys to Nana's house for lunch, but they weren't able to hunt eggs due to the rain.  Judging by these pictures I don't think Luke would have made it through an Easter egg hunt -- he definitely had the tired eyes.

We are thankful for Jesus and his sacrifice for us - not just on Easter, but on every day of the year.

Rice Cereal

We decided to start Benjamin on rice cereal a few days after he turned 4 months old.  We had originally planned on waiting a little while longer before starting solids, but due to my boy's appetite we decided to start a little sooner! 

Ben didn't take to the cereal as quickly as Luke did.  He was real suspicious of the mysterious substance we were putting in his mouth at first and I am pretty sure he ended up wearing the majority of it on that first day.  Now that we have been at it for a couple of weeks, Benjamin is quite the pro.  He is actually lunging at the spoon to get his bite and he starts to get upset if we don't feed him fast enough! 

I am going to have a huge grocery bill when these boys get older.

It is official.....I am THAT mom.  I like to dress my boys alike.  I think it is cute.....end of story :)

4 Months Old!

Benjamin is now 4 months old!!  At his 4 month visit he weighed in at 16 lbs even (75 percentile) and was 26.25 inches long (90th percentile).  His head was in the 75th percentile as well, but I do not remember the exact number.  He is growing like a little weed....yes, I said little -- he is smaller than Luke was at this exact same age :)

Benjamin loves his bottles!  He eats 5 times each with each bottle being 7-8 ounces.  He doesn't always drain them, but I wouldn't say that he likes to leave much behind!  He is starting to change over to his 6-9 month sleepers because of his length and is probably within a few weeks from wearing his 6-9 month clothes.  He continues to be a good sleeper.  We put him down between 8-9pm and we wake him up at 6am. 

At 4 months old Benjamin is learning new things every day.  He is really starting to play with his toys more and more.  He loves his little rattle/teether and his crinkle book.  He especially loves his big brother Luke.  He loves to give him kisses (open mouthed and slobbery) and watch him play.  Luke is so sweet and always thinking of Benjamin.  Luke loves to lay with Ben on the blanket and he is always "buying" him new toys from around the house.

Benjamin isn't rolling over yet, but he is definitely trying.  He gets up on his side, but just can't quite figure out what to do with his arm.  Don't worry, I am not showing him what to do with that arm just yet -- I can use a few more weeks (at least) of no rolling over ;)

Ben on Wheels

We love having a little brother around here.  Luke has a big dump truck that Benjamin happens to fit perfectly in. One night we loaded him up and took him for a ride!  Luke really enjoyed pushing Ben around and Ben loved being mobile.



Rock Chalk, Jayhawks!

The KU Jayhawks are in the championship game tomorrow night so Luke started cheering a day early.  Thanks to the Keels we have some Jayhawks gear to show our support for KU.  Luke is actually shouting "Go Jayhawks!" in this picture.  So cute!

Cool Shades

Blake got these shades for Luke for Christmas and he is loving them now that it is sunny.  Isn't he the coolest kid you know?

17 Weeks Old

We spent the evening outside last night while Andy repaired our busted pipe.  Benji spent time in his Bumbo chair watching Luke's bubble machine and the rest of the time on his blanket in the front yard.  Luke was a big help to daddy.  He wasn't really into me taking his picture, but I managed to get a few.

 This was the best smile he would give me after I made a deal to go in the backyard with him if he would smile for the camera.

Easter Egg Hunt

Gigi's church had an Easter egg hunt yesterday so we decided to take the boys.  It started out with the Easter story and then the kids got to hunt.  Luke got off to a good start, but got bored after a while.  He did manage to get 23 eggs in the process though!  After hunting eggs the kids went inside to trade them for candy.  We came home with a bucket full of Dum-Dum's -- Luke's favorite.  Thanks Gigi for inviting us to hunt eggs.
