Luke and Blake

Last night Luke and I went to visit Lance, Lindsey, and Blake. Luke was in a bit of a funk, but he managed to chill out and enjoy some time with Blake before we left. Can you believe that these boys are only 3 months apart?

6 month visit (28 weeks)

I took Luke to his 6 month doctor's appointment on Tuesday. His official stats were: weight 20lbs, 12 ounces (90th percentile), length 29inches (off the chart), and head circumference 45.5cm (90th percentile). This was the first appointment that I went to by myself. I think that Luke and I handled it pretty well. Here is a picture of Luke waiting for the vaccines to arrive (he got 3 shots and 1 oral vaccine). I kind of felt bad because he was so happy and then the next thing he knew he was having pain inflicted upon him for no apparent reason. He calmed down relatively quickly, but it would have been nice to have his daddy's extra arms around so that I didn't have to put him immediately into the stroller and roll him out. It was sad, but I am pretty sure he has already forgotten about it -- he's good like that!

Family Lunch

After Luke's dedication we all took the opportunity to go out for a family lunch at a little place called The Chicago Corner. The food was okay, but the company was great! I managed to get a picture of everyone except for Kraig and John - sorry :( I promise they were there.

Baby Dedication

We had Luke's baby dedication at church today. Andy and I are committed to raising Luke in the church and teaching him about the love of Jesus. We are happy to have the support of our church family at Arlington Park Baptist Church, as well as our family. Luke is surrounded by people who love him and who love the Lord. We have been given the great task of being parents and it is our duty to teach Luke about Christ's sacrifice for us. We gladly accept this responsibility and are thankful that we were chosen for the job!

Zonked

What's cuter than a zonked out baby??

First Football Game

We went to our first football game of the season! Robyn is now going to Harvest Christian Academy so we have become HCA Saints fans. Surprisingly, Luke was able to make it through the entire first half -- which was well past his bedtime. It was a nice Friday night family outing.....just not real sure who won the game. If you look closely at the first picture you will be able to see Luke's 2 little chicklet teeth!!

A Night Out

Last night Luke and I went over to the Zelazny's to see baby Mallory and the rest of the crew. Shanequa and Lil' T were also able to come, which made for a house full of kiddos. Believe it or not, I was able to get pictures of everyone EXCEPT baby Mallory - go figure!

6 Months

Luke was 6 months old on Friday -- can you believe it? I can't. It seems like yesterday I was waiting in anticipation for little man to arrive.......time is passing way too fast :(

At 6 months old Luke is growing FAST. He weighed in at 21.6 lbs (per Gigi's scale) which puts him in the >95th percentile. To date he has tried sweet potatoes, squash, green beans, carrots, peas, bananas and apples -- bananas are by far his favorite. He eats 3 tablespoons of cereal in the morning with 1/2 of a fruit and 1 vegetable with 1/2 of a fruit in the evenings. In addition he eats 5-7 ounces of milk 4-5 times a day. Luke has 2 little teeth that are super cute and super sharp -- no more sucking on daddy's pinky.

Luke has many tricks - his favorite of which is zerbert noises/blowing raspberries. He does this all day long and has recently decided to do this while eating....maddening!! In addition to noise making he LOVES to bounce in his bouncer/entertainer, sit and play with his toys on the floor, and, of course, stick his fingers in Bella's mouth. All in all, Luke is a very happy baby and I am grateful to have him as my son.

On his 6 month birthday Luke was a big boy and spent the entire weekend at Gigi's house (3 nights) while Andy and I went to Salt Lake City, UT. Here are some pictures of his adventures......(yes, Gigi still needs a new camera)

1/2 of a Year!

Luke was exactly 1/2 of a year yesterday (26 weeks)!! He celebrated his 1/2 year birthday with his first ever snot nose :( My poor guy wasn't feeling well at all. I was excited to take him to a bridal shower and show him off to my work friends, but he wasn't having it. He was whiny and clingy - which is very unusual for him. I sure hope he starts feeling better ASAP because we are leaving him with my mom starting tomorrow and I am sure she isn't going to be too excited about sick baby.

Despite the sniffles, Luke was able to try bananas today. As for all of the foods he has tasted thus far, bananas have to be at the top of his list. He was too cute. He was so happy to be eating bananas that he was giggling in between each bite. He makes my heart melt.

Carrots & Another Tooth!

Luke cut another tooth! At this rate we will have a mouth full of chompers by the end of the month. I am still amazed at how sharp those little suckers are. As soon as I can get a picture of the 2 little chiclets I will post it (I assume it will be a few weks).

Luke also tried carrots today. He has finally made it through all of the "first foods" veggies. He was a little unsure at first, but ended the meal with a smile. He is such a good kid.

New Hat

Luke got a new hat yesterday and he has pretty much been wearing it since we got it home (except for when he has been sleeping). And no, he isn't wearing it because he is insisting.....he is wearing it because I think he is too darn cute in it!!
