Great Wolf Lodge - Water Park

The last week in August we met up with the Johansen's for a night at the Great Wolf Lodge.  Colin was feeling a little under the weather so the boys did not get to play much together (bummer).  We all did manage to make it out to the water park that evening and the boys seemed to really enjoy themselves.  Andy, Luke and I went back to the water park the next day for some more fun.  It was hard to get good pictures with the boys on the  move, the constant dodging of water and the fogging of my lens, but I think I was able to capture a few that showed how great of a time we had! Overall we were very pleased with our stay at GWL.  It wasn't very busy (we went during the week when school was in session) and the people were nice.  I forsee us making this an annual Johansen/Cloud trip in the future.

Luke, at 17 months, really loved EVERYTHING!!  We spent a lot of time in the toddler pool.  He mostly liked climbing up and down the stairs with Daddy, going down the little toddler slide, and riding the jet skiis.  He also really enjoyed the bigger kid fort area.  This made me a little nervous given the 1000 gallon bucket of water that dumps every so often (don't worry, we avoided this area when the bell started dinging).  I truly enjoy watching Luke learn and have fun.  The smile on his face is always priceless!!

One quick story.....at one point Luke started running as fast as his little legs would take him towards the toddler pool.  He was hollering pool and making the cutest little squeaks of excitement as he ran.  As soon as he hit the water his body kept moving forward, but his legs met the resistance of the shallow water.....yep, you guessed it -- he went face first into the water.  Don't worry though, this didn't stop him.  Daddy helped him get right back up and he went back to playing with the same enthusiasam that took him to the pool in the first place.  I love him!!
