7 Months

Luke turned 7 months old on Sunday. Andy, Luke and I celebrated by going to the pumpkin patch with Gigi and Makayla (more pics to come - promise). At 7 months old Luke weighs in at 21lbs, 9.5 ozs, which puts him in the 90th percentile for his age. For the most part he is wearing either 6-9 month or 12 month clothes, but definitely needs an 18 month sleeper (because he is SO long).

Luke still only has 2 teeth. He loves to eat and especially likes anything banana. He is learning to drink out of his sippy cup and mostly prefers the one with the straw (still working on picking up the cup to drink).

Luke recently started using consonants while babbling. He has mastered the Mum-ma and is slowly incorporating bob-ba. We are really working on da-da and Gigi has been pushing for the g- sound, but I don't think I have heard either of them yet. He is a great sitter, but has not made any effort to crawl. He loves to play with his toys and bounce anywhere and everywhere!

For the most part, Luke is still sleeping through the night. He wakes up occasionally, but not enough for me to complain (yet). He is starting to recognize strangers and is noticing when we walk out of the room. He is the sweetest little guy and I love watching him grow!! Seven months has flown by and I am looking forward to the next 7 -- I just wish that time would slow down a bit so that I won't miss a thing!!

Makayla is FOUR!

This past Saturday was Makayla's 4th birthday! I can't believe that she is already 4 years old. She had a princess party with an extra special castle cake ;) We really couldn't ask for a better niece. She is so sweet and such a great cousin to Luke. We love her very much!!! Luke was able to hang in there for a couple of photo opps before he turned in for his afternoon nap. He did manage to get his very first slide down the slide in -- so cute!

The Bucket

Who knew that a bucket from the dollar store would be such a great purchase! It not only stores his toys, but it has become a toy itself! Luke likes to dump toys out of it, put toys in it, and, of course, CHEW IT!! He is so cute.

30 Weeks!

Luke was so energetic and squirmy during his 30 week photo shoot! He gave me A LOT of crazy looks and poses. Here is the fun and crazy side of my favorite little boy!

Pumpkins, Round 1

Mom and I took Luke to the pumpkin patch near our house last Wednesday. It was a rough go getting there and then once we finally arrived I didn't have the SD card in the camera. I was really bummed. Here are a few pics from my phone. Stay tuned for round 2!

Luke and Blake

Last night Luke and I went to visit Lance, Lindsey, and Blake. Luke was in a bit of a funk, but he managed to chill out and enjoy some time with Blake before we left. Can you believe that these boys are only 3 months apart?

6 month visit (28 weeks)

I took Luke to his 6 month doctor's appointment on Tuesday. His official stats were: weight 20lbs, 12 ounces (90th percentile), length 29inches (off the chart), and head circumference 45.5cm (90th percentile). This was the first appointment that I went to by myself. I think that Luke and I handled it pretty well. Here is a picture of Luke waiting for the vaccines to arrive (he got 3 shots and 1 oral vaccine). I kind of felt bad because he was so happy and then the next thing he knew he was having pain inflicted upon him for no apparent reason. He calmed down relatively quickly, but it would have been nice to have his daddy's extra arms around so that I didn't have to put him immediately into the stroller and roll him out. It was sad, but I am pretty sure he has already forgotten about it -- he's good like that!

Family Lunch

After Luke's dedication we all took the opportunity to go out for a family lunch at a little place called The Chicago Corner. The food was okay, but the company was great! I managed to get a picture of everyone except for Kraig and John - sorry :( I promise they were there.
