Sweet Potatoes

Shortly after Ben turned 5 months old we decided to start him on the first foods, beginning with sweet potatoes.  Benji was a huge fan of the SPs and gobbled them up quickly!!

5 Months Old!

I know this is way over due, considering my baby is almost 6 months old…..

At 5 months old Benjamin weighed in at 18.5 lbs on our home scale, which puts him in the 90th percentile for his age. He has the cutest little knee rolls and Buddha belly!!

As you can probably guess, Ben loves to eat. At 5 months old he was eating 3 tablespoons of cereal twice daily, in addition to his 7-8 oz bottles (4-5 per day). He is wearing 6-9 month clothes and he loves to have his clothes changed. I actually look forward to the smiles and giggles I get when I take his clothes off before bath time. He has continued to be a great overnight sleeper, with only a few minor wake ups here and there. As for napping, that is a different story!

The day that Benjamin turned 5 months old is the same day that he finally decided he would roll over!! He started with back to belly and only recently going from belly to back. He loves to be in his bouncer/entertainer and seeing himself in the little mirror. He will play with almost anything you give him, but particularly loves anything he can use to hit a hard surface and make a noise!

Benjamin is such a good baby. He mostly goes with the flow and allows us to tote him all over town. He loves his big brother and I can already tell that he is going to be following him around as soon as he is mobile!

Ben's Baby Dedication

We had Benjamin's baby dedication on April 29th.  Benjamin was one of 19 babies being dedicated during the morning service!  (Our church only does baby dedications twice per year)  Andy and I are thankful for Benjamin and are committed to raising him in the church and teaching him about Christ's love.  We have been blessed with 2 wonderful boys and thank God daily for choosing us to be their parents.

It is our prayer that you will come to know God's love and understand that He loves you more than you could ever imagine.  He has a plan for you and we know you will do great things with your life.

Outside Ben

Benjamin loves to be outside!  He is perfectly content just laying on a blanket in the yard.  I loves his big smile and blue eyes!

20 Weeks Old

Once upon a time Benjamin was 20 weeks old and here are the pictures to prove it!

Celebrating Colin

Last month we helped celebrate Colin's second birthday.  We gave him some chalk and bubbles for his birthday and he wanted to use them immediately -- which meant the party migrated outside.  I didn't manage to get any pictures of him with cake and candles, but we did get these pictures of the boys playing with his new loot.  Can you believe they are 2?

Day Out with Thomas

Last month Andy and I took a day off of work to spend time with Luke.  We dropped Benji off at Grandma's house and then headed to Grapevine for a day out with Thomas!  This was really a neat event for the Thomas lovers out there.  The kids were able to meet Sir Topham Hatt, get a Thomas (or friend) tattoo, play with toy trains, jump in a bounce house, and ultimately take a ride on Thomas!!  It ended up being a cool rainy day, but we didn't let that hinder us from having fun!  Luke even talked us into going across the street to ride a pony.  Lastly, to wrap up the day we stopped for some ice cream on the way home.  We had a great day out with Thomas and look forward to doing it again next year with Benjamin in tow!

I guess the 3rd time is the charm because he rode the pony like a pro!

Ice Cream

One day after school I decided to take Makayla and Luke to get some ice cream as a special treat. Luke wanted cotton candy and insisted he eat it without any help.  Independence is good, but it kind of makes me sad :(

Park, Park, Park

We spend a lot of time at the park these days!  These pictures are from one evening that we picked up Gigi and some Chick-fil-a and had dinner at the park.  Luke is getting more and more adventurous.  He is going down the big slides more and more and even wanting to climb up the ladders.  Benji seems to like the park, too.  I actually think he just likes being outside and the park part is just a coincidence :)

Things That Brothers Do Together

Here are a few shots from one evening at our house.  Looking through these pictures made me smile.  The first couple are from when Ben was watching Luke go potty.  Ben was a good brother and pretended to be interested and Luke was a good brother and read a book to Ben.  This was good for Mommy and Daddy because I was doing laundry and Andy was making dinner.  The last couple were when they were playing on the kitchen floor.  Luke found a web camera and was using it like a stethoscope to listen to Ben's heart.  So cute!  I love these boys.
