Inaugural Pool Fun

We recently got out the blow up pool for some back yard Summer time fun.  Luke had such a great time playing in the water.  He jumped, splashed, swam, and went down the slide into the water.  He especially loved the water balloons Daddy made.  Benjamin took a little while to warm up to the water, but ended up having a good time, too.  I know we will get good use out of this little pool this summer!

We have a Sitter!

In the last couple of weeks  Benjamin has really started to get the hang of sitting.  I still like to put pillows or something soft near/around him because he falls back from time to time, but other than that I would say he is sitting!

On the way home from Houston we had to stop for a potty break and to give Benjamin a bottle.  Thankfully, the rest stop we chose had a nice little park for Luke to play at.

Bananas

I was really excited for Benjamin to try bananas because Luke has absolutely loved bananas from the time he put them in his mouth.  Well, Benji doesn't seem to be a big fan of the banana :(  He tolerated the  bites, but didn't even want to finish the container that first night.  We tried them for a total of 4 days in a row and it was them same each day.  Oh well.....I guess he doesn't have to love bananas :)  I wonder what his favorite food will be??

Splash Pad Fun!

We went to Houston a couple of weekends ago for Jack's baby dedication.  While we were there we were able to take the kiddos down to the neighborhood splash pad and pool.  This was Ben's first time in the water and he loved it!  He loved splashing around and playing with the water coming out of the ground.  Luke had a great time, too!  He is such a big boy!  He swam underwater and went down the slide all by himself.  In fact, before it was all said and done he was going down the slide face first!  This was a great first trip to the pool and I look forward to a summer full of my kiddos splashing!  (Ben had to wear Luke's Nemo hat at the pool because we forgot to bring his with us to Houston -- too cute!)

Swinging is Fun!

A few weeks ago we spent the evening at the park with our T-cell group.  Ben had been to the park many times already, but it wasn't until this visit that I decided to put him in the swing.  He loved it!  I think he would have stayed in that thing for hours. 

Mother's Day 2012

This year for Mother's day I specifically requested to spend some time outdoors with my family at the Dallas Arboretum -- and that is just what we did.  Andy packed a lunch, we got dressed in color coordinating clothes, and then headed over to Dallas.  Little did I know that the DA would be packed!!  Apparently LOTS of other mothers out there had the same idea as me.  We got there at 10am and the only parking (other than shuttle parking) was valet...I was shocked.  Despite the crowds we had a nice morning outside.  After lunch we packed up and headed to Andy's mom's house and then we wrapped up the day at my mom's house.  The day was anything but relaxing, but I had a great time spending it with my family.  I love being a mom and I feel especially blessed to have my boys.  Andy was awesome and got me a necklace that says "love you to the moon and back."  This happens to be what I tell my boys every night.....so the necklace was PERFECT!
