Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch

We took Makayla and Luke to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch a couple of weeks ago.  Our experience this year was FAR better than last year.  If you have never been to FMPP -- DO NOT go on a weekend.  We went on a week night this time and had such a great time.  Luke and Makayla really enjoyed running around in the pumpkins and riding in/pulling the wagon.  I can't wait to take both of my boys and Makayla there next year!

Fun in a Box

My mom got me a double stroller so that I can wheel my boys around when baby brother gets here.  While Andy put it together/taught me how it works Luke found refuge in the box. I can only imagine the forts that are in my future!

Baby Sprinkle

Sarah, Ginger, and Christina threw me a baby sprinkle to celebrate the future arrival of baby brother Benjamin in December.  Mom was kind enough to offer her home so that many of my close friends and family could come over and celebrate.  Looking back at these pictures I wish I would have worn my contacts instead of my glasses because I am sporting a serious glare!  A big thank you to my friends and family for coming over to sprinkle Ben with things of his own!

Makayla is FIVE!

We celebrated Makayla's 5th birthday earlier this month at Let's Jump.  I cannot believe it has already been 5 years -- eek, where did the time go?  She is truly a special girl we are are thankful to be in her life.  Luke adores his big cousin "Lay-la" and loves that he gets to spend so much time with her now that they go to the same school. Makayla we love you!

Luke seemed to enjoy this visit to Let's Jump better than the last.  He was a little more adventurous and not so attached to my leg.  He really enjoyed going down the slides with Nin-Nin and Daddy and I enjoyed watching him (I am beyond the point of being able to climb up slides and jump in bounce houses).  He was definitely warn out by the time we left.....but not too warn out to enjoy a cupcake!

Houston

The first weekend in October we took a quick trip down to Houston to see Sarah and John one last time before baby brother makes his arrival.  We walked down to the park on Saturday morning and Luke wasn't really having it.  He played some, but wasn't really enjoying himself like he normally does.  Turns out that Luke ended up with a fever later that afternoon.  I should have known -- Mommy 101 -- not enjoying the park is a real warning sign that something not fun is coming on.  Despite the fever we managed to enjoy some quality time with Aunt Sarah and Uncle John.  I was even able to sneak away for a few hours and help Sarah and John register for baby cousin Jack who should be here in February!

This first shot shows the boo-boo Luke got on his lip when he fell down on his way into school a few days prior.

Howling

Since our visit to the the Great Wolf Lodge at the end of the summer Luke has taken on howling periodically.  You cannot always predict when it might happen, but it is not uncommon for it to occur while he is in his high chair eating breakfast.  I was able to get the camera out one morning when he was howling.....enjoy!

Johnson Rd Park

Recently, Andy and I were on the hunt for a toddler friendly park -- you know, one that has stuff for little people who aren't quite cognizant of edges and drop offs......well we hit the jackpot when we found Johnson Rd Park in Keller!!!!  If you have a little one and live on the North side of town I suggest you check this place out.  It has a side for the big kids and a side for the little kids.  There were very few drop offs/places where Luke could take a pretty serious nose dive (which made this mama happy).  We really enjoyed our evening at the park and look forward to many more visits and maybe even a birthday party in the future.
