Peas and a Tooth!

Luke is 25 weeks old today and, to my surprise, he is cutting a tooth!! He hasn't been overly fussy (yet) and seems to be taking it like a champ. It has just started to come in so I can't take a picture, but you better believe I will do my best to capture it on film as soon as I can! While I am looking forward seeing his tooth smile, I am also sad to see his toothless grin go away. I am torn between excitment and sadness......HE IS GROWING TOO FAST!!!

Tonight was also the night that Luke tried peas for the first time. Based on the last time he tried a green vegetable I did not think that tonight was going to go very well - I mean, who likes pureed peas? Well apparently Luke does!!! He didn't make a single yucky face and welcomed each bite with an open mouth. Who knew! We have 3 more days of peas and then on to the carrots!

Last, but not least, Luke mastered drinking from a straw yesterday. It is so cute to see him drink my water. While he has mastered the sucking, we are still working on the swallowing. Too cute! I hope to get video of his new trick to post to the blog soon.

Give Me More Squash!!

Luke moved on to squash last Saturday night. Could he open his mouth any wider? I am pretty sure he liked it!!

Shopping Cart

Luke rode in the shopping cart at Sam's for the first time!!! He rode in the shopping cart once before for a quick run into the grocery store, but this was the first extended ride! He did so well.

Noname No More!

Miss Noname (prounounced no-nah-may) finally has a name......Mallory Claire Zelazny!!! It only took 40 weeks exactly for them to decide, but who's counting ;) Three cheers for one precious angel and one big ol' congrats to Mom, Dad and big sister Macy!! I just love her!

Green Beans

Luke tried green beans for the first time this past Tuesday night. Coming off his recent trial of sweet potatoes he was eager to try the green beans. The first several bites went really well, but once he slowed down enough to realize he wasn't eating sweet potatoes things changed. He made the cutest ugly faces as he was trying to bare the new flavor. He hung in there long enough to eat most of the portion, but gave up with about 20% left. The good news is that last night he was a little more tolerant of the green beans. I still don't think they fall anywhere near the love category, but they appear to be edible. Stay tuned for squash.....

Baby in a Box

Luke has found a new place to hang out! Who knew a diaper box could be so much fun. I am looking forward to the much talked about "baby in a basket," but Luke isn't quite ready for that yet. Maybe in a couple of weeks!!

Baby "No Name" Zelazny

Today is a very special day!! Miss "No Name" Zelazny made her entrance into this world at 10:03 this morning weighing in at 6 lbs, 14.6 ounces. She is a little cutie patootie! I was dead convinced that Miss "No Name" was going to be a bouncing baby boy, oops! Hopefully she will forgive me :) Mom and baby are doing great!! I am hoping that Miss "No Name" will have a name BEFORE they leave the hospital.......we'll see :)

Sweet Potatoes!

Last Friday Luke tasted his very first vegetable.....sweet potatoes - YUM!! He absolutely loved them! He didn't question what was going on, he just opened his mouth and enjoyed it. I have such a good eater. Stay tuned for green beans......

Night at Gigi's

Luke spent the night last Friday night at Gigi's house. This was the very first time Luke had spent the night away from Andy and me. I was sad and excited all at the same time.....it is weird how that happens. Andy and I used this time to go out to dinner and do some shopping for our trip coming up in January (we have to shop for beachy stuff now because it will be hard to find come January). Our first night without the kid and we were home by 9:40pm! So sad.....

As for Luke's night at Gigi's - he had a great time. Mom said that he played, ate, and slept like a champ. She put him down for bed around 8:30pm and he didn't wake up until SHE woke HIM up at 8:15am the next day......he never sleeps this late for me :( All in all this was a good practice run to prepare me for our trip to Salt Lake City in a few weeks.

Gigi did her best to document the milestone for me, but her camera is still suffering from the queso incident (long story). Here are some of the pictures....

A new kind of blow out

After 23 weeks I experienced a first today......

For the first several months of his life Luke was NOT a pooper. In fact he depended on a daily pear juice bottle to keep him ''regular" until he was 3 1/2 months old. Before discovering pear juice Andy and I worried and wished for poopie diapers - I know, its weird.

Well those days are long gone and he is one "regular" little boy! I now secretly get excited when he has a poopie diaper on Daddy's watch or while he is at Grandma's house -- is that bad? I just can't help it....I smile on the inside :) Sorry guys.....

Well today I was NOT smiling. We have had some blow out diapers over the past 5 months, but nothing like today. Tonight, while we were eating dinner at Pizza Inn he had a blow out to top all previous blow outs. Without getting too detailed, this blow out was of the type that blew out of the FRONT of the diaper.....GROSS!! I can't begin to explain the science of how this actually happened, but I did live to talk about it. I am still recovering - YUCK!
